Bangkok: Zen moments

Greetings from the "Land of Smiles"

Hello everyone...from Thailand. I've had the most amazing time so far. I've met some fantastic people and have great contacts for life. I toured Bangkok with the cutest English couple. They had a knack for travelling and bargaining. They are both teachers back in the UK and came to Thailand to travel and teach a bit up in Chiang Rai. I'm down in Krabi now. Stunning is the word that comes to mind. If you just go with the flow you can really have a unique and fantastic experience. The monkeys on Ko Phi Phi were a trip. One hissed at me as I shooed him off our bags. They will take everyone you own if you turn your back. You think.."Oh so cute" until they're running off with the digitial camera. Maryanne and I went kayaking in the most beautiful crystal blue water with sheer limestone cliffs, covered with Palm trees and crazy monkeys. We met a guy on Ko Phi Phi that is doing a massive cleanup project tomorrow on the beach that was devastated by the Tsunami. This gorgeous island was hit really hard, lots of deaths and destruction. Anyway, they are having a big barbeque following the cleanup and we decided to go and lend a hand. I thought it would be a great way to get introduced into the culture and meet new people.
Thai massages are like 5$ for an hour. The day planner goes something like this: 1)Go to island 2)Buy a sarong 3) Get a massage and usually that's all you have time for. I could easily get swept away in this lifestyle if I had an endless supply of money....(hint, hint). I will have a P.O. Box soon I hope. Everyday I plan on looking for a place to stay for the month but the beaches have been calling my name, and I respond.
